Time with Lucy Shuker, Paralympic Silver Medallist

Yesterday some of our aspiring juniors and Club Chairman, Edwin Bessant, had the honour of spending time with Paralympian Lucy Shuker and her sparkling silver medal from Tokyo. It's been an incredible summer for Lucy who also reached the Wimbledon Doubles Final!

 

They were also joined on court by Coach Debbie, a core member of Lucy's team as she trained for Tokyo. No stranger to success, Debbie is the current 35s National Champion, has represented GB at events and was selected to be Team Captain at the World Championships in Miami shortly before the pandemic.

 

After several years at the Club, Debbie is a familiar face to many members and we would like to say farewell and wish her the very best as she moves to a coaching role in Hampshire.

 

It's not goodbye though as Debbie and Lucy will continue to train at the Club so keep your eyes peeled for this impressive, inspirational duo.
