Results of the 12 Week Body Transformation Challenge at West Hants Club

Posted on 12th May 2016

We label this a ‘Challenge’, and the challenge is a personal one, the competition element is a bit of fun and (for some) a little extra motivation. Our priority for these past three months have been more a chance for individuals to learn how to improve their health and body composition and with that knowledge gained continue on a healthier path. Everyone that we received ‘after’ photos from showed improvements, some slight, some vast.  Cleo, Simon and I ended up enlisting the help of Karen and Dean to reach our final decision because, as we mentioned yesterday, it was close between a few and we wanted a fair result that we were all happy with.

We ended up choosing a top 4 from each category and a further 4 honorary mentions from both male and female.

Starting with the Ladies in joint third place receiving £50 each plus a performance food voucher are Hayley O’Shea and Martina Shand, both showing great improvement in muscle tone and shape.  In Second place Faranak Jalali receiving £100 plus two 30 minute Personal Training sessions.  Faranak started with an already athletic physique and still managed to improve fairly dramatically through the intelligent tweaking of her weights programme and diet.  In first place is Hannah Coope receiving £150 plus 5 half hour PT sessions from a PT of her choice.  Hannah’s transformation is nothing short of amazing, she obviously immersed herself in the whole system, training sensibly (not too much, but intelligently) and getting her food on point for the full 12 weeks.

Four more ladies impressed us so much we felt we needed to offer them a little something as congratulations so they will be given a free 30 minute PT session with a PT of their choice: Alex Pike, Mahnaz Miraftabzadeh, Hayley Tipper and Carmen Jeanes.  Well done on such great transformations.

The men were closer still with the top 4 moving pole position several times over the course of the 30 minutes that we were scrutinising their pictures.  We finished with a result that we were happy with:

In joint 3rd place receiving £50 plus a performance food voucher are Adam Tipper and Lee Bolson.  In the words of Cleo, Adam looks like a pro crossfit athlete in his after photos, and certainly a marked difference compared to his before pics.  Lee managed to maintain muscle mass and shed some unwanted weight so much so he needs a new wardrobe.  In second place was the dark horse; Rodney Hartle who receives £100 plus 2 x 30 minutes PT sessions.  Rodney was new to weights and had obviously made significant gain in muscle tone and shape and lost body fat from his mid section. His new nick name is Rambo now, he wasn’t particularly out of shape to start with, now he’s pretty ripped, and I hope he don’t mind me saying but he’s even older than me so great effort.  In first place Ben Fowler who receives £150 and 5 PT sessions.  Before a certain gentleman of Middle Eastern origin with purple hair and a penchant for colourful cap sleeve t shirts and matching shoes starts shouting ‘fix’ I need to establish that I didn’t have anything to do with voting for either Ben (who I trained 3 times throughout the course of the 12 weeks) or Lee Boslon who I train regularly.  Ben, like Hannah, made truly phenomenal changes to his physique and is a deserved winner.  The four men that are awarded a free 30 minute PT session who also done exceptionally well but just fell outside the top 4 were Richard Parfitt, James Boughton, Gavin Daniel and the one and only Reza Farhang.  All four showed great improvement over the 12 weeks.

Well done also to Dawn Clifford, Nev Thompson,  Farah Shoshtary, Simon Clooney, Wiola Smith, Miriam Boughton, Geli Easton, Susan Hopkins, Emma Bloomfield, Arthur Turner, Melinda Politis, Andrew Bailey, Majgan Bellamy who all showed improved body composition based on their photos.
