National Inter-Club Winners!

Massive congratulations to Jenny Watts and her team who became National Inter-Club Ladies 65+ Champions at the weekend!  Team members Jenny Watts, Pauline Fisher, Carol Dickie, and Barbara Williams are now headed for the European Finals next year!

 

Match Report by Team Captain Jenny Watts

 

I am delighted to inform you that my team of >65 ladies WON our age group!

 

On the way to the final we have beaten at least 6 international players in various teams and on Friday scored a 3-1 victory over Warwick Boat Club.

 

The match was tight and in the first round our second couple of Carol and Barbara showed terrific powers of recovery to come from a 6-0 loss of the first set to win with two tie break sets.  We went into the second round requiring two sets for victory which was secured by Pauline and me winning 6-2 6-3.

 

We are rewarded with representing the National clubs in the European finals next year.
