The West Hants Ladies have been off to a good start in this year's National League. Dominating their first fixture at home against Gerrards Cross with a 12-0 win was a convincing start. The team consisted of Captains Amelia Fortescue and Annie Lammas, long standing member Aysha Roocroft and Bournemouth’s newbie Charlotte Howard.

The second home fixture against East Gloucester went to a nail biting shoot out when it reached 6-6 in rubbers. In the first shootout tie-break Aysha unfortunately injured her hamstring causing her to miss out on a win. Amelia secured the second, taking it to 1-1 and it was then up to a fast and furious doubles tie-break to decide. Annie paired up with previous captain Jane Bingham for an incredibly close doubles battle, just falling short to the opponents 10-8.

The third fixture of the league required a scenic journey down to Newquay. Captains Amelia and Annie along with Academy players Nancy and Shakira were straight down to business, relentlessly taking all the rubbers that day and securing a 12-0 victory.

Two more away fixtures are to be played, then the last and most challenging fixture scheduled for 21st of May on home ground at West Hants, will all decide whether they qualify for the finals in September.  Wish them luck!
