Erin in the Girls Doubles at Wimbledon

Second Round

Erin and doubles partner Sonay are on Court 11 today against Garland and Liang of Taiwan, who are seeded five.  Liang is the current Junior Australian Open winner and is ranked 2 in the world.  

 

Update: It was a close battle which saw Garland and Liang win 7-5  7-5.  Erin and Sonay put in an impressive performance, with Erin battling injury, so we are incredibly proud of them both and hope they enjoyed the experience, soaking up the atmosphere in the famous SW19 grounds!

First Round

Our Academy player Erin graced Court 5 today with doubles partner Sonay in the first round of the Girls Doubles.  They faced Bencheikh and Leonard of France (42nd and 56th in the world respectively) and won 7-5  5-7  6-4  in just over two hours.  It was an impressive performance and we were all incredibly proud of Erin, marking her debut at Wimbledon with a win!

 

Erin and Sonay's second round match will be this Thursday so keep checking our website and Facebook page for updates.  Good luck girls, we know your coaches are with you but there are plenty of us also cheering you on from Talbot Woods!
