Summer is here and there is plenty happening at the Club!

We're reducing our carbon footprint by 51 tons

The Club has been successful in obtaining a £20,000 grant towards the conversion of our four indoor courts from metal halide to LED lights. The tender was won by a Dorset company called Low Energy Designs and they have recently completed a similar installation at The National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.  The Club will be contributing £30,000 and the return on investment is less than two years which will be beneficial for the Club moving forward.  We are proud to share our efforts and we thank Low Carbon Dorset (as part of the European Regional Development Fund) for their funding and support.

PLUS, more 'green' news...after continual review we have decided not to replace the plastic bags in the changing rooms. We will be providing re-usable swim bags which can be purchased in our Club Shop or at Reception.

Plans changed?  Need to cancel a booking?

If you have booked a Studio class or court (tennis, padel, squash/racketball) but cannot make it, please consider other members who may on a waiting list and release your space by speaking to Reception or emailing us.  Remember, there is a £5 'no show' penalty, which goes to our nominated local charity, EDAS.  If you are attending as planned, make sure you swipe your card so we know you've arrived!

Tennis Tournaments this month

This month, there is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some first-class tennis at the Club.  From 23rd-31st July, we are hosting a Grade 1 Junior National Tour event so it's a brilliant chance to spot the rising stars of British Tennis and, of course, cheer on our own Academy/RPDC Juniors who are competing. This event will be followed immediately by the 99th Bournemouth Open (31st July-6th August) which promises more excellent tennis.  Our Tournament Team are looking for court-side volunteers to help during the Bournemouth Open - click here for more details

Have you opened your home to a Ukrainian family?

We have been approached by some members who have been able to welcome those fleeing the terrible situation in Ukraine.  We have a limited number of complimentary memberships for your Ukrainian house guests so if you would like to apply, please do so in writing by clicking here to email me directly.

Please continue to check our website, social channels, and club noticeboards for all news & events!

With continued thanks for your support,

Best wishes,

Peter D Elviss
Chief Executive

PS. Please note Bar & Food service may be impacted by the summer's tournaments so we thank you in advance for your patience with our wonderful, hard working Bar & Kitchen Team.
