Sunday 29th April marks 50 years of professional tennis and the world's first Open Tennis Tournament held here at The West Hants Club.
The Club will be staging a tennis exhibition event which will feature our promising Juniors (under 10) followed by our Academy players who are playing with Mark Cox (1968 Semi-finalist) and Tim Henman (former world number 4).
There will be 150 seats available for members at a charge of £10 with all proceeds going to Tennis First; a charity supporting talented Juniors who have aspirations to be a top 250 world ranking player. Only one ticket can be purchased per member and will need to be shown upon entry on the day.
11am - Doors open for member arrival
11:30am - Exhibition event commences
1:00pm - Exhibition Match ends and guests to depart
You are then welcome to stay and watch our Ladies 1st Team compete in the South West Division of the National Club League which will start at 1pm.
To purchase your ticket please call or speak to the Reception team. Please note that tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved without payment. Any remaining tickets after 23rd April will be available for non-members to buy (one per person).
The Club will also be staging a formal invitational lunch for representatives of the world of tennis including the International Tennis Federation (ITF), The All England Club (AELTC), LTA colour holders (former international players).
To accommodate this milestone event, the Club will be closed on the morning of Sunday 29th April and will re-open at 4pm. I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
If anyone has any questions relating to the celebratory event please do not hesitate to contact me.
