2023 Tennis Club Champs (entries are now closed)

Entries are now open for the 2023 West Hants Club Championships (OpenAge Group) which runs from 17th June – 23rd Spetmber.
Events include:
- Men’s & Women’s Singles
- Men’s & Women’s Doubles
- Mixed Doubles
Players must be current West Hants full members (minimum age 12 years) and submit an entry form along with the £10 entry fee by the closing date: SUNDAY 11th June 2023.
Players arrange their own matches in each round up until Finals Day on Saturday 23rd September.
Winners of each event will have their names added to the Club Honours Board,.
Entry forms are available online / from the notice boards / at Main Reception.

Rules and Regulations for Entry
Main Draws: Saturday 17th June – Sat 23rd September 2023
Finals Day: Saturday 23rd September
Closing Date for Entries: Sunday 11th June 2023
General Rules:
- Every player must be a bone fide playing Member of The West Hants Club during the dates of the event (Minium age 12 years on or before 31st December 2022)
- All matches will be played in accordance with the rules of tennis and the LTA Code of Conduct.
- All matches will be TWO sets with a 10 point tie-break deciding the match in the event that it is a set all. This applies in all rounds including the final.
- In the event of a dispute, the decision of the joint referees will be final.
Arranging Matches:
- It is the responsibility of BOTH players to arrange their match by the date shown on the draw sheet.
- Early Rounds will have approximately 2 weeks to complete each round with the later rounds having approximately 1 week (subject to the number of entries received)
- The player (s) bracketed top is responsible for making initial contact and offering 3 reasonable dates to play the match – however see point 5 for Arranging Matches.
- If no arrangement has been made, it will be assumed that the match will be played on the actual play by date. Court surface to be mutually agreed or decided by a coin toss.
- If the match is not played by the play by date, the player bracketed top will automatically go through to the next round. Bottom bracketed player must notify organisers (at least 1 week prior to the play by date) if no contact has been made.
- Winning players are responsible for writing the match result & score on the board
- Players must be available for Finals day on Saturday 23rd September 2023 or scratch (concede) at match point of the semi-final or earlier.
- Please ensure you complete all details on the form in full including the name of your doubles partner where appropriate. (Partners must complete and sign the relevant entry form and also pay the entry Fee)
