Talbot Heath and West Hants Tennis Academy take 4th place in Qatar

Talbot Heath School and members of the West Hants Tennis Academy capped off a fantastic tournament by finishing 4th in the World Championships. After fending off top opposition the girls finally were beaten in close matches by both Turkey and Germany.

 

Mrs Angharad Holloway, the schools headteacher had this to say about the achievement:

 

"The team should be incredibly proud of themselves, as we are of them for reaching the semi finals. They initially topped a tough group, beat China in the quarter finals and narrowly missed a spot in the final after losing in a tie break against Turkey. The German team are notoriously strong and we fought until the very end. A great team effort by all" 

 

Everyone at the club would like to offer our congratulations to the girls who have done everybody proud.
