Business Partners

The Business Partnership Scheme has been set up to create a working partnership between the West Hants Club and local businesses who wish to support sport in the community, particularly tennis development.

Through the team of professional coaches based at The West Hants, the generosity of the Business Partners has enabled the club to develop out-reach programmes within local schools, many of which are in the state sector and would not normally have access to professional coaches. The Business Partnerships have made it possible to take tennis into these schools by providing financial support to cover the coaches' fees, provide clothing and equipment, and offer "scholarships" to talented youngsters in order for them to continue their training at the club.

In October 2004 the club was awarded the status as one of the Lawn Tennis Association High Performance Centres (HPC). This accreditation was renewed in October 2009 for a further three years and the club receives a grant towards funding performance tennis. In addition, youngsters who have national and European rankings receive individual grants but tennis is an individual sport and is expensive as it requires overseas travel to obtain international ranking points. Additional funding is therefore required to make this a real success and support from the business community is vital to ensure that our most talented youngsters have the opportunity to benefit from the best coaching, have physical and medical support available whilst remaining in their home and schooling environment.
